The United States Coast Guard Band presents its annual Holiday Concerts on Sunday, December 16, at 2 and 7 p.m. at Leamy Concert Hall. Captain Kenneth W. Megan leads the Band in two spectacular performances filled with holiday favorites. The family friendly matinee will fascinate young and old with the raucous number, "Rocket Sleigh" by Delvyn Case and Leroy Anderson's virtuosic showcase "Bugler's Holiday." The more diverse evening program includes works by J.S. Bach, Alfred Reed, and Morten Lauridsen. The holiday staples, "Sleigh Ride" and "A Christmas Festival" are a welcome addition to both performances. Rounding out the program are Alfred Reed's "Russian Christmas Music," and an appearance by Captain Megan as the narrator in "The Night Before Christmas." FREE
