He is passionate about helping individuals repair and restore their credit to good standing and provides ongoing counseling and advice to guide them through developing sound financial habits. Michael has nearly 30 years of financial experience serving his clients with prudence, confidentiality and respect, and his slogan is “Helping People Sleep Soundly.”Michael has earned a number of awards throughout his career for client servicing and business development, including “Super Achiever” while employed by Wilmington Trust Company, the “Marketing Award” with IBJ Whitehall Bank and Trust, and the “Million Dollar Trust Club” with Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company. Born of a Colombian mother and Puerto Rican father, Mike loves to cook Latin dishes. He’s an award-winning competitive barbecue pit master and owns a catering company called Buenos Diaz BBQ, which is famous for his injecting Latin flair into traditional American recipes. Michael regularly contributes his barbecue services to charities, raising more than $40,000 in the past year for his non-profit friends! He’s all about “Cooking for a Cause”.Michael is very active in the community serving as an Adult Leader with the Cub Scouts in his hometown of Lloyd Harbor, NY and with the Boy Scouts in the neighboring Centerport, NY. Michael also served on the Board of Trustees for the New York City Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society from 2000 – 2010. Michael graduated from The State University of New York at Buffalo majoring in Economics where he earned his Bachelors of Arts degree in 1983. Michael is married to his wife of 20 years, Jeanne Carr Diaz, and has two teenage sons.
