Allstate Assisting New York Homeowners After Superstorm Sandy

Allstate Brings Mobile Claims Centers and Catastrophe Response Vehicles Across State 

Hauppauge, NY – Allstate Insurance has set up two Mobile Claims Centers (MCCs) to help residents on Long Island, following the recent Superstorm Sandy. 

These mobile claims centers are specially equipped motor coaches designed to go into impacted area quickly after storms happen. They will be set up as temporary claim locations to assist those insured with one of the Allstate companies start the claims process. The units are equipped with satellite phones, wireless data access, generators and even bottled water and teddy bears for kids and will deploy in areas impacted by the storm.  

Hot Off the Assembly Line

Along with the MCCs, Allstate has rolled out new Catastrophe Response Vehicles (CRVs). The CRV is small and swift, can easily maneuver city streets, and allows claim adjusters quick access to the most heavily damaged neighborhoods; often as soon as local authorities give the ok to enter an area. Allstate uses the catastrophe response vehicles to support teams of claim personnel that canvass severely damaged neighborhoods, find customers, provide general claim information, share locations of mobile claim centers, and if necessary, get the claim process started – on the spot. 

By visiting a Mobile Claims Center or Catastrophe Response Vehicle that will be driving through Islip, Breezy Point, Bay Shore and Rockaway, Allstate customers are able to file a claim and ask questions about their loss. Allstate policyholders can also file their claim by calling 1-800-54-STORM (1-800-547-8676), visiting a local Agent’s Office, or logging onto Allstate.com
