Hi, I'm Pete Rizzo, early morning elixir for your weekends.
I love music and I love talking about it. I grew up listening to bands like Rush (best band on the planet!), Van Halen (Diamond Dave all the way), AC/DC (Bon rules!) and Genesis (the Gabriel years). But my true love is progressive rock and heavy metal. The louder, crunchier, more bombastic and self-indulgent, the better!
When I’m not on the air, I’m either training in martial arts, deciding which tattoo I should get next, reading a good book (I still enjoy turning actual pages), or my wife and I are planning our next big travel excursion.
I’m on every Saturday and Sunday morning. You can also follow me on on Twitter @PeteRizzoWBAB. I’d love to hear from you.
Growing up on a steady diet of disco and pop in my house as a kid, I was introduced to two of my favorite genres of music during the 80’s,…. hard rock and heavy metal. My love of hard rock stems back to the first time I watched Def Leppard’s video ...

If you are a Long Islander, and a Nassau County resident especially, the phrase ‘Cruising the Pike’ certainly has lots of meaning if you spent your nights driving this strip of road from Levittown to Farmingdale. For me, my fondest memories of this rite of passage involved plenty of Crazy Horse ...
If you grew up in the 80’s, you either wore one or new someone who wore one. And yes, I rocked a mullet back in the day when I still had hair. Throw in the denim jacket with patches all over it, heavy metal T-shirt and acid wash jeans and ...
If you were a fellow child of the 80’s, no doubt you had the requisite mom-and-pop record store in your neighborhood that seemingly all the kids went to. For me, my home away from home was Mr. Cheapo’s in Mineola. I fondly remember spending my paper route money on many ...

Rolling Stone just released their poll of the 10 worst bands of the 90’s. Read about it here. There are some who deserve the billing and there are a few surprises on there. And, yes, I’m putting Creed (voted #1) in the ‘surprises’ category. I’m with the voters on Limp ...
One of my favorite film performances to this day is Christian Bale’s bat-shit crazy turn as Patrick Bateman in ‘American Psycho’. If you’ve seen the movie, you know one of the best scenes involves the fantastic Huey Lewis tune ‘Hip to be Square’. Well, there’s a parody on Funny or ...
Some very good news, fellow ‘24’ junkies! In case you haven’t heard by now, one of my favorite TV bad-asses is coming back to the small screen. Fox is bringing Kiefer Sutherland back for a limited run of 24. See the article below for more info. Read about it here. ...
For those of you who didn’t think chicken and waffle-flavored chips was gross enough,…try sucking this through a straw. Read more here.
