If you have a word of condolence, gratitude, or comfort to offer the friends and family of fallen Nassau County police officer Geoffrey Breitkopf killed in the line of duty Saturday night in a friendly fire incident, leave a comment and we'll see that they are all relayed to his family.
The services for Officer Breitkopf are as follows:
Wake services for family only will be at the Selden Fire Department, 44 Woodmere Place in Selden, on Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. (Breitkopf volunteered with the Selden Fire Dept)
Public wake services are Thursday 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., followed by departmental wake services from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Be advised that up to 7,000 police officers and firefighters are expected to pay their respects Thursday night.
The funeral Mass is scheduled for Friday at noon at St. Margaret's of Scotland in Selden. Read more.
