LED ZEPPELIN, RUSH AND SABBATH IN MUSIC NEWS 

It’s been nearly four years since Led Zeppelin reunited at London’s Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert and fans are still begging for an opportunity to see them live once again.  So will it happen?  It’s unlikely.  Late Zep drummer John Bonham’s son, Jason, who sat behind the kit at the reunion, told the Artisan News that a reunion is a “dead thing,” explaining, “There’s been no more talk.”  Jason went on to state, “As far as any kind of Zeppelin thing, I don’t ever imagine it happening again.” 

GEDDY LEE UPDATES US ON HIS NEW ALBUM

We caught up with Rush singer Geddy Lee to chat about the band’s upcoming DVD, Time Machine Live.  Lee was speaking somewhat softly and it turns out, he’s been in the studio for the past few days singing.  The guys are working on their latest album and Geddy updated us on how things are going.

“We’re finishing our Clockwork Angels album which we began before the Time Machine Tour and we recorded two songs before the tour started and we meant to get right back into the studio to finish the album and we didn’t.  Two years later, here we are, finishing the album.  So we’re really excited, it’s going really, really well.  We’ve had a great three weeks of writing and now, we’ve transitioned into recording and spirits are high over here.”

No word yet on when Clockwork Angels will be released but you can pick up Rush’s Time Machine Live DVD tomorrow (11/8).Time Machine Live was filmed at the band’s April 2011 show in Cleveland during their Time Machine Live tour, when they played their Moving Pictures album live in its entirety, along with some other Rush favorites.

BLACK SABBATH TO MAKE AN ANNOUNCEMENT THIS WEEK

Amid reports the band plans to reunite for a tour and/or an album, The home page at black-sabbath.com features the date 11.11.11 below the band’s logo.  Something big is no doubt going to be announced this week.  Word is that all four original members will attend a ceremony in Hollywood on Friday to make an announcement.  Henry Rollins will host the private event, which will be held at the Whisky A Go Go at exactly 11:11 AM.
