Roger Waters, Rolling Stones and Vince Neil in Music News

By Donna Donna

The protesters at Occupy Wall Street have been receiving a lot of support from various celebrities and musicians and the latest person to speak out on their behalf is Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters.  Waters posted a video on his website called “Occupy,” where he talks about the importance of the protesters and how he is amazed it has taken so long for folks to band together like this.  Roger says he should be required to pay more taxes and happily would.  Watch the clip below:

Next year will mark the Rolling Stones’ 50th anniversary but as of yet, they haven’t announced any special plans to commemorate the occasion.  However, Keith Richards told Rolling Stone magazine that he’s getting together with his band mates Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts in a London studio this month.  He revealed (quote), “We’re just going to play a little together because we haven’t played for three or four years.”  Richards added (quote), “Mick’s welcome, and I’m sure he’ll turn up, but right now we just want to get our chops down.”  As for if anything will happen for their 50th anniversary, Keith stated (quote), “I just hope we can perform live.”

When rock stars perform and run all over the stage for over two hours each night, they’re getting quite a work-out.  With the New York City Marathon just concluded, Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil let the San Antonio Examiner know how close what he does is to a marathon.  Vince said he wears a pedometer when he performs and he usually winds up running the equivalent of 10 to 12 miles at each concert.  Vince explained that it is different than a marathon though, since he stops and talks to the crowd, adding, “What these athletes do – it’s amazing.”
