RICHARD GERE SELLS GUITAR COLLECTION FOR A MILLION DOLLARS

By Donna Donna

Actor Richard Gere sold his collection of vintage guitars for nearly one-million dollars at an auction this week.  The instrument that fetched the highest price was a 1960 Gibson Les Paul which went for 98,500 dollars, while a 1958 Gibson Flying V, went for 74,500 dollars.

Singer Steve Miller was among those at the auction but he told Bloomberg News, “I wasn’t tempted by anything.  I have 450 guitars.”

The actor said proceeds from the sale will go to charity.
