The Vietnam Veterans Memorial “Traveling” Wall Comes To Long Island

By Donna Donna

Veterans Day is just a few weeks away and the “traveling” wall is coming to the Northport VA hospital this weekend (10/28 – 10/30). The Dignity Memorial® Vietnam Wall is a traveling, three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. It stands 240 feet long and eight feet high and is inscribed with the names of more than 58,000 Americans who died or are missing in Vietnam.

Since its inception in 1990, the traveling monument has been displayed in more than 200 cities across the country, allowing millions of visitors to experience the healing power of the memorial. This is a wonderful way to remember and honor those who served and sacrificed. It’s free and open to the public 24 hours a day. Get the complete schedule of events at the Memorial here.
