Southampton Fire Department 9/11 Weekend Events By Donna Donna
Southampton Fire Department Captain Chris Brenner asked me to help them get the word out about their Antique Fire Department Muster on Saturday September 10th starting at 9am at Pond La in Southampton Village. It features an antique fire truck parade and many races especially whale boat races. It is a great day for the community to come down and see the competition.
The next event will be a dedication of the Southampton Fire Department 9/11 memorial on Sunday 9/11 from 11am to 1pm at the Hampton Rd firehouse in Southampton Village. The Eastern Long Island Pipes and drums will play for a flag raising ceremony and invocation. All who would like are invited to attend. This memorial was the work of quite a few of our firefighters. We will never forget and ask that people come out and support us on a somber day. There will be a lunch served afterwards behind the firehouse.
