The Towers of Freedom Military Monument

By Donna Donna

Our good friend FDNY firefighter Ken Haskell, who lost his brothers Timmy and Tommy on 9/11, is involved with a very unique 9/11 memorial.  The Towers of Freedom Military Monument at John J. Burns Park in Massapequa, will pay tribute to all the victims of 9/11 as well as members of the military who’ve lost their lives fighting the war on terror. But we need your help to make this monument a reality.

Join us for the Towers of Freedom Military Monument Restaurant Rally, Sunday 10/2 from noon to 5PM at the Marjorie Post Park gazebo (at the south side of the park on Merrick Rd in Massapequa).

For a suggested donation of $20 per person, or $30 per family you can sample foods from many of Massapequa’s finest restaurants including: ALL AMERICAN, BIG DADDY’S, CIAO BABY, DON JUAN’S CORNER GALLEY, IL CLASSICO, JOHNNY McGOREY’S, KATIE DALY’S, MARINO’S PIZZA, WOODY’S VILLAGE SALOON and more. There’ll be live music too. So bring the family, and a cooler of your favorite beverages, and help a good cause.

Listen to my interview with Ken Haskell talking about the fundraiser and the first responders’ ambitious plan for this unique memorial here and find out how you can help here.
