Get Ready for Sunday’s Game with These Super Apps

By Donna Donna

The Super Bowl itself will be streamed online to virtually every type of mobile device. The NFL and NBC Sports has teamed up with Verizon for its NFL Mobile app, while NBC Sports is streaming the game to its All-Access Sports site.

But to further enhance your Super Bowl experience here are some other apps you may want to try:

Before the game even begins you’ll want to prepare some of you favorite Super Bowl Party snacks and the Food Network and All Recipes.com both have apps to help. The AllRecipes.com app is free and lists Super Bowl friendly recipes that can be made in 20 minutes or less, while the In the Kitchen Food Network app for $1.99 features special game day recipes as well.

The Super Bowl XLVI Official NFL Game Program app is being offered for the iPad. It includes interviews, game highlights, team rosters, and profiles of the players and coaches.

If you’re wondering what players around the NFL not playing in Sunday’s game have to say about the action, try the NFL Pro Tweets app. It grabs all of the players' Twitter feeds and puts them in one place.

For some game time interactive fun that could pay off big try the Chevy Game Time app. This General Motors app features quizzes, polls, Twitter, and best of all the chance to win prizes, including a brand new Chevy vehicle! I’ll take a Corvette please.

If you’re less than thrilled with a Madonna half time show, get the Know It All Super Bowl app and turn the game downtime into a trivia contest amongst your friends.

For some, the best part of the Super Bowl is the commercials. Get the Super Bowl Super Ads: Super Bowl Commercials to search past and present Super Bowl spots.

If you get frustrated by what’s going on on the field and you want to take the football into your own hands you can get the Madden NFL 12 app by EA Sports for $4.99.

And finally if your just marking time till kickoff let the Super Bowl Countdown Clock app do it for you. This app will tell you how much longer you have to wait for the big game to begin.
