Johan Santana Gets the Mets Their First ever No Hitter! By Donna Donna
FINALLY!!!! It only took 50 years and 8,020 games but the Mets got their first No Hitter in franchise history tonight thanks to the mighty Johan Santana. And it came against the offensive powerhouse, world champion St. Louis Cardinals.
I had a feeling this was going to be the year the Mets finally got their first no no, but the way Dickey has been going, I thought RA would be the one to do it.
But it couldn’t have happened to a better guy. Coming back after major surgery Johan Santana threw more pitches (134) than he ever had in a single game, and this great competitor means so much to this team, to his teammates and to the fans. Way to Go, Johan!!!
If you missed it, SNY will re-air Johan Santana's entire no-hitter Saturday at noon and Monday at 7:30 p.m.
