We read his books as kids and then we read ‘em to our own kids!

Children’s book author and illustrator Maurice Sendak died yesterday at age 83. His dark, often scary, always fanciful characters intrigued children of all ages for over 50 years and will no doubt fascinate and delight children for generations to come.

Daniel Handler author of the Lemony Snicket "Series of Unfortunate Events" books said about Sendak "It's almost impossible to overstate his importance…in particular for his dark and clear-eyed view of the world …he gives neither the comfort nor the horror of sentimentality."

Thanks for inspiring the imagination in us all, Mr Sendak, I hope you are dancing about with some heavenly wild things right now!
