To me Bob Dylan is like Shakespeare, either you get it or you don’t. And for those of us that get it Dylan is god. And he’s done it all; folk, rock, traditional, country, even a Christmas album (which I don’t recommend unless you’re the die-hardest of fans).

He’s made movies (I do recommend “Don’t Look Back”), written books, hosted his own radio show, and even appeared in a Victoria’s Secret ad. Since 1988 he’s performed so extensively the media has dubbed his worldwide trek the “Never Ending Tour.”

And through it all Dylan remains an enigma inspiring wonder and worship from artists and fans alike. Bono from U2 famously said about Dylan "Every songwriter after him carries his baggage,"

So Bob, on your 71^st birthday I’d like to wish you a happy one and many, many more. It’s hard to imagine the world without Bob Dylan in it, so Bob to quote one of your most beloved songs (and there are many), may you stay forever young…
