This is a big weekend for Blue Oyster Cult. The band celebrates their 40th anniversary with 2 shows and an upcoming box set. I talked with BOC’s Eric Bloom about their first ever acoustic show, Saturday night at the Landmark on Main Street in Port Washington and Sunday night’s show at the Best Buy Time Square Theater. Listen here.

And although Eric wouldn’t spill the beans about the surprise guests expected to help the band celebrate their 40^th Sunday night, we did talk about the groups early days, as well as Donald Trump, Stephen Colbert, The Islanders, and the likelihood of Kramer leading a Long Island Blue Oyster Cult tour! And yes of course we talked about adding more cowbell. 

There are still some tickets left for both of this weekend’s BOC shows. 

The box set: Blue Öyster Cult - The Columbia Albums Collection, is a monumental career-spanning BÖC library comprised of 16 CDs (the full official canon plus two discs of rarities) and the mythic Some OTHER Enchanted Evening DVD (a blistering concert video from 1978). The highly-collectible boxed set will be available Tuesday, November 6th.
