The Who play the Nassau Coliseum tomorrow night, and you can make all the geriatric jokes you want, in the pantheon of rock greats The Who breath rarified air. And they still know how to put on a killer live show.

A recent review of the band's "Quadrophenia and more tour" raved "Townshend was superb on guitar, as always, and was energetic, windmilling and jumping around the stage like a much younger version of himself." 

Recent shows have the Who playing for nearly four hours as they perform “Quadrophenia,” in it's entirety as well as fan favorites like “Won’t Get Fooled Again,” “Pinball Wizard,” “Baba O’Riley,” “Behind Blue Eyes” and “Who Are You.” And thanks to modern technology former Who members John Entwistle and Keith Moon make cameo appearances as well. 

And after all these years, how does Roger Daltrey manage to still make each show so powerful? He told the Vh1Radio network, “I’ve always tried to be a dramatist of the lyrics so I live those words every night that I’m singing them. 

If I don’t do that, I feel that I’ve failed.  Townshend songs you can’t cheat.  That’s why the energy stays up because the songs are written in a way and they’re about subjects that demand that.  If you can’t deliver it, it’ll fall flat as a pancake.”
