Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi posted this note to fans on his website on December 22nd:

What a year!  Certainly not the one I was expecting.

Thanks to you all for your massive help and support, it was very encouraging.  I'm still working on the album and managed to play three shows, not bad given the news a year ago.  I'm looking forward to next year, seeing what you think of the record and touring as much as we're able.

My Best Wishes to you all, I hope you have a great Christmas and New Year, most of all, stay positive

-Tony

The original line-up of Black Sabbath (except drummer Bill Ward) has been working on a new album in England, while Iommi was receiving cancer treatments. The as yet untitled album is expected to be released in April and here’s hoping Iommi’s promise to tour “as much as we’re able” means more than just the one show the band did in the U.S. in 2012.

Iommi’s autobiography “Iron Man: My Journey Through Heaven and Hell with Black Sabbath” has just been released in paperback and audiobook form with new chapters.
