New Songs and no Oscar for Bon Jovi but maybe a Golden Globe?

Bon Jovi fans were dissappointed yesterday when the band’s song “Not Running Anymore,” which appears in the upcoming Al Pacino film Stand Up Guys, wasn’t nominated for an Oscar.

The tune is however up for a Golden Globe for Best Original Song.

The last time Bon Jovi got an Oscar nod was in 1990 when his song “Blaze of Glory” appeared in the film Young Guns II and competed in the best original song category for an Academy Award. It lost out on the prize to Stephen Sondheim’s “Sooner or Later”  from Dick Tracy.

The Golden Globes will be broadcast this Sunday (1/13) at 7PM on NBC.


 
The another new Bon Jovi tune, “Because We Can” came out this week.

It’s off their upcoming album, What About Now, which is due on March 26th.
