Say what you want about Kiss, but one thing's for sure when they say "support our troops" it's more than just lip service. The band has donated lots of cash and helped promote The Wounded Warrior Project for some time now, and they showed their true red white and blue colors again last weekend.
When Kiss played the Rock Fest in Cadott, Wisconsin last Saturday, the band introduced a wounded military veteran named Ramon Rivera to the audience, and presented Rivera and his wife with a brand new house!
Paul Stanley told the crowd, "We have special guests with us tonight I'd like to bring out Roman Rivera and his wife Michelle, and Ken from Military Warriors Support Foundation.Roman is a Wisconsin native, everybody. He is also a decorated veteran. He was severely injured during his combat tour in Iraq by an improvised bomb. He is a tried-and-true hero." Paul went on to say, "We have the privilege of presenting Roman and his family with a mortgage-free, two-story, four-bedroom, three-car attached garage home in Janesville, Wisconsin. Again, completely mortgage-free. Please join me in congratulating Roman, and thank you to everyone for their service to our country!" Roman was then "hugged, high-fived and thanked for his service" before being led offstage to deafening chants of 'USA, USA, USA' with the crowd pumping fists in the air.
Kiss worked with the Military Warriors Support Foundation to make this all possible, and if you'd like to support that group, you can make a donation here.
I'm disappointed there's no video of this moment, but here's Kiss in 2010 donating over $100,000 to the Wounded Warriors and leading the crowd in the Pledge of Allegiance.
