The Jimi Hendrix biopic, "All Is By My Side," will have its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival on August 20th.
There's no trailer for the film on-line yet, but the studio officially released a photo of star Andre 3000 (Andre Benjamin) of hip-hop group OutKast playing the legendary guitarist. You can see it on our facebook page.
The story follows Hendrix's career between 1966 and 1967, four years before his death in 1970. In the film, Jimmy James, an unknown backup guitarist, leaves New York City for London in 1966, and returns year later as Jimi Hendrix.
Unfortunately the film makers and Hendrix's estate could not reach agreement for use of any Hendrix's music in the movie, so instead, a supergroup of session players was assembled to record some of the blues and rock covers that Hendrix was performing in the London clubs at the time.
