On the surface, the new film "Spring Breakers" looks like your run of the mill teen T&A tale, but here's the shocker, critics are lovin' it! In truth, the critics are somewhat divided between lovin' it or hating it, there don't seem to be many in the middle, but the movie registered a respectable 74% on the film review aggregator site.
Even the New York Times gave the movie a thumbs up! And all this respect may be because the film's director is art house specialist Harmony Korine, who wrote screenplay for the acclaimed movie "Kids" when he was only 17, and directed the strange but fascinating "Gummo." Perhaps Rotten Tomatoes explains this unusual phenomenon best: "Spring Breakers blends stinging social commentary with bikini cheesecake and a bravura James Franco performance -- and has infectious fun doing it." MTV raved about the movie and tellingly said the movie is, "a cinematic version of a parent's worst nightmare." Read the MTV review here.
