A few weeks ago, New Hampshire waitress and single mom, Sarah Hoidahl picked up the lunch tab for two National Guard soldiers affected by the government's shutdown who came into the restaurant where she works.
At the end of the meal, Sara left a note for them that said: Thanks to the gov. shutdown the people like you that protect this country are not getting paid. However I still am. Lunch is on me! Thank you for serving ladies! Have a good day! -Sarah
The soldiers posted the note on facebook, and it went viral. When Ellen DeGeneres heard the story, she decided to do a little paying it forward herself. Watch what happens on the video.
