It turns out the reason Def Leppard had to delay recent tour dates was because singer Joe Elliott’s father was ailing and now, he has sadly passed away.
The band’s tour manager wrote a tribute to Joe’s dad, first explaining that Joe Senior, as he was known, suffered a bad heart attack in April then two more soon after, and things didn’t look good.
However, he said Joe Senior was “tough as nails” and pulled through and revealed Joe Senior even insisted that his son go on tour. However, Joe Senior’s health soon deteriorated and while Joe did one more show as a tribute to his father, he then went to support his family and be by his dad’s bedside, which is where he was when his father passed away.
The July 12th show at Jones Beach has been postponed until July 30th.
