The holiday shopping season is here so here are a few ideas for your list.

First a beautiful coffee table book of hard rock and heavy metal album covers. “Fade To Black” - Hard Rock Cover Art of the Vinyl Age by Martin Popoff, this cat has written 36 books on hard rock and heavy metal and classic rock and almost 8000 reviews, and Ioannis who has created over 170 album covers for the Allman Brothers, Blue Oyster Cult, Bon Jovi and Lynyrd Skynyrd amongst others.

This book is a beautifully bound, leathery rubbery, book of album covers that feels really cool to hold. Page after page of memories and flashbacks struck me as the eye candy rolled on.

Chronicling from 1965 to 1990 these guys highlight the best of the best and the worst of the worst with some interesting picks like Martins favorite cover and the story behind it.

This is a great conversation  starter that everyone will want to pick and enjoy. Cross sectioned in multiple indexes. I loved pawing through this tome of art and attitude.

The first cover in the book is “The Rolling Stones, Now!” and the last cover is Megadeth “Rust in Peace” With a bunch of stories, factoids and awesome pictures in between it’s worth the $20.00.
