George Thorogood - 2120 South Michigan Avenue

By Joe Rock

2120 South Michigan Avenue is the address of Chess Records in Chicago and the name of an instrumental number that the Rolling Stones recorded there. It is also the name of George Thorogood's latest album.

George was nominated for a Blues Music Award for Blues Rock Album for this collection. He was up against Warren Haynes as well as Joe Bonamassa who ended up winning May 10th.

Thorogood has never been any stranger to paying tribute to Blues artists and those who started Rock N' Roll. On this album though he does only a couple original compositions. The rest are covers of Willie Dixon, Bo Diddley, Howlin' Wolf, Chick Berry and even covers the Stones on the title track.

If Blues Rock lights you up then you need to own this record.

The 20th retweet of the following wins a copy of the CD: 20th to RT  #WBABlues wins @Thorogodmusic ‘s latest #blues CD!
