Backed-up Willie Style

Another movie has shot up to the top of my must-see list. It's the biopic about one of all-time favorite stand-up comics, the late, great Bill Hicks.
Word is Russell Crowe was once tapped to play Willie. but that doesn’t make much sense now. Crowe is pushing 50 and Hicks was only 32 when he died.
Which begs the question? Who would you cast? My vote goes to Joseph Gordon-Levitt. And can he do skits like this justice?
