As Black Sabbath finish up work on their first new full disc of tunes with Ozzy since 1978, an interesting story came out earlier this week.

It said that Rick Rubin wanted to recruit Ginger Baker to replace Bill Ward as their drummer for the disc and tour, an idea that Tony Iommi evidently put an immediate kibosh on.

That should put things in perspective! Black Sabbath was able to deal with Ozzy Osbourne, who many deem the personification of crazy rock star, for over a decade before ousting him.

And they didn’t even want to give Ginger Baker the time of day because he was, get this, ‘too crazy’!
