Visitors at Schlitterbahn Park have to go nearly 140-feet in the air to ride the slide, or roughly 17 stories.

Riders are expected to drop at approximately 60-miles-per-hour on the way down the ride named The Verrückt, German for insane.

Riders will have to climb 264 steps to reach the top of the ride.

The 2nd largest water slide is in Brazil at 134-feet-tall.

Guests will be able to see the floating mountains and glowing forests, as well as fly through the sky on one a banshee, which is a flying predator from the movie.

The "Avatar" section of the park is slated for 2017.

Walt Disney World announced in September that it will build a new attraction area at Animal Kingdom based on the blockbuster movie, "Avatar."

Disney CEO Bob Iger said at that time the company will build an entire "Pandora" themed area that will bring the fantasy of the film to the amusement park.

"We think we've got an opportunity to do just that with the characters and the land that inhabit Pandora," said Iger.

The new attraction will include multiple rides and shows. Disney will spend $500 million on the project.

"The scope and the scale of this thing are pretty incredible," said James Cameron, director of Avatar.

Cameron's film generated almost $3 billion worldwide.

Disney's announcement comes one year after Universal Orlando opened its popular, Wizarding World of Harry Potter.  When it opened, ticket sales at Universal went up nearly 50 percent.

"I think it's new. It could be the greatest hit for Disney," said Disney tourist Timo Immermann. "So, let's see what the people think about it."

Construction on the new attraction is scheduled to start next year.  It is slated to open to guests in about five years.

Family kicked out of Universal Studios because dad wore police shirt

A South Florida father said his daughter's Sweet 16 surprise turned into a nightmare after he was kicked out of Universal Studios because of the shirt he was wearing. Christian Jarosz said he was at the park on his way to see Blue Man Group on Saturday night, when park security surrounded his family. Jarosz said security told him he couldn't wear a police shirt in the park. When they stopped by one of the park's shops to buy a new shirt, the family said even more security showed up. The family said security told them not to bother and that the family had to leave or they would be arrested.

"'Don't bother. You guys are out of here.' We're like, 'What are you talking about?'" said Christian Jarosz.

"I was thinking, 'What is going on? I just want to see Blue Man Group with my friend. I'm just excited my family took me here,'" said daughter Sabrina Jarosz.

A spokesman for Universal said for safety reasons only law enforcement personnel are allowed to wear shirts in the park identifying them as police officers. The family said they eventually did get a refund for their Blue Man Group tickets. Jarosz said the T-shirt was a gift from his brother, who is a police officer in New York.
