Matt DeAngelis has been a part of numerous Broadway shows, like “Hair,” “Waitress,” “Once” and “American Idiot.” Sunday September 21st, 2025, marks the 21st anniversary of Green Day’s “American Idiot” album that inspired the broadway show. Matt is one of many Broadway stars who will celebrate the album’s anniversary at 54 Below at 254 W 54th Street in Manhattan. There are 2 shows, 7PM and 9:30PM.
We caught up with Matt to discuss the show. We also took some time to talk about his Janice Jam breast cancer resaerch benefit he does. Broadway may not be something I always cover, but the Green Day connection for the anniversary got my attention. Then as you’ll see when you watch our conersation, Matt and I both lost our mother’s to breast cancer. His benefit is personal to him, me trying to help him is personal to me. I’m sure there is also a good chance that breast cancer, or cancer in general has touched your life as well.
