Brianna was nominated by her father Timothy who says, “Brianna had just graduated Farmingdale nursing program as an RN in 2020 when she became a part of Stonybrook University Hospital’s full time nursing staff. Then the Pandemic hit! She worked in every department from emergency to ICU. She saw countless patients in every age category. Some with good outcomes, but of course some not. She was caring and tending to six to eight patients in a 12 hour overnight shift in the height of it all and never complained through it all. That’s why she’s my hero. Why not make her yours.”
Brianna was “baptized by the fire” as an ER Nurse for 5 years, starting at the beginning of the pandemic, and has transitioned into Interventional Radiology. She has also returned to Stony Brook University to further her education and obtain a Master’s Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She says being a nurse is a calling, not just a job, and we couldn’t agree more.
