Every year the PNC Christmas Price Index adds the cost of The 12 Days Of Christmas. Due to COVID-19 the price for all 12 days is 58.5% less in 2020. Here’s the song to remind you of all the items! Enjoy!
Here’s the list and cost for 2020:
A Partridge in a Pear Tree — Cost: $210.18. Same as last year.
Two Turtle Doves — Cost: $450. The cost of these love birds is up 50% from 2019.
Three French Hens — Cost: $210. Up 15% from last year.
Four Calling Birds — Cost: $599.96. No change.
Five Gold Rings — Cost: $945. The price of gold rose during the pandemic, so five rings would cost $120 more than in 2019.
Six Geese-A-Laying — Cost: $570. Up 35% over last year.
Seven Swans-A-Swimming — Cost: $13,125. These swans are the most expensive item on the list, but cost the same as last year.
Eight Maids-A-Milking — Cost: $58. Same as 2019.
Nine Ladies Dancing — Cost: N/A. With most bars shut down or limited attendance, there won’t be any ladies dancing in 2020.
Ten Lords A-Leaping — Cost: N/A. COVID-19 has kept the Ten lords on the ground.
Eleven Pipers Piping — Cost: N/A. Live music venues aren’t open, so no pipers for 2020.
Twelve Drummers Drumming — Cost: N/A. The drummers have been silenced too!
Total cost: $16,168.14.
That’s down 58.5% from 2019 ($38,993).
