Did You Forget How To Drive During The Pandemic?

New study shows Pittsburgh’s bad roads costing drivers extra in repairs, gas

During the pandemic, almost half of Americans (46%) drove consideribly less than before. 37% even said that they COMPLETELY FORGOT how to drive! 34% admitted that they would willing take Driver’s Ed again to feel more comfortable driving.

The survey also found that 46% of us are more annoyed at drivers returning to the roads. I can’t count how many times in the last couple of months I have yelled “What in the hell is wrong these drivers!”. I never yelled it that much before the pandemic. 53% have noticed that some drivers are a bit out of control and not following the rules of the road like before.

These are our worst driving habitats.

1) Speeding (39%)

2) Changing lanes without signaling (32%)

3) Turning without signaling (32%)

4) Rolling stops (28%)

5) Distracted driving (24%)

How have we been dealing with more bad drivers on the road lately? 33% - honk their horn, 25% - flash their lights, flashing their lights, 21% - yell out the window (I can’t count how many times I’ve done that one), 15% - have even gone as far as cutting off the bad driver. In an attempt to do something positive to handle the stress of bad drivers, 32% turn on the radio and 20% call someone and talk to them about it.

The average American surveyed said it would take them about 3 months to break their bad driving habits. I hope they take a crash course (yes, pun intended) because 62% also said they plan on taking a trip of 100 miles or more this summer!

Drive safely and crank us up to deal with the stress of bad drivers!
