George Thorogood has been making music for more than 50 years. When you see the band live, their years of experience is obvious. You’ll be able to see that for yourself when George and The Destroyers come to The Paramount on Saturday May 2nd, 2026.
We recently caught up with George to discuss the show and more. I’ve been lucky enough to speak with George on multiple occasions through the years. The thing to know about him is the only thing he seems to ALWAYS be serious about, is music.
When George and The Destroyers hit the stage is when things get real. Talk to George and you’ll realize that his job is to put on a show and throw a party, and he takes that responsibility to heart. You can tell that he appreciates the fans who are spending their hard earned money to come to the show. Especially when they’ve been doing this for so long and the fans are still along for the ride.
We even discussed a lot of George’s records. That’s when George told us about the fights he had trying to get his labels to understand that he knew what the fans wanted. The reaction from the fans live told him what would work on a record. “Why would I come to the studio if I didn’t know these songs would appeal to people.”
One of those songs we spoke about was “Ride On Jsoephine.” Check out this live version of the song below. It was recorded at My Father’s Place in 1978 and comes from the album “The Baddest Show on Earth: Greatest Hits Live.”
Watch our conversation for yourself above and make sure you don’t miss George Thorogood and The Destroyers at The Paramount on May 2nd, 2026!!!
