Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top) is rockin’ 71 today!
Billy Gibbons is ranked #32 on Rolling Stone’s list of “100 Greatest Guitarists Of All Time”. Jimi Hendrix once said that Gibbons is “One of America’s great young guitarists”. As a member of ZZ Top, he was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2004. May 15, 1997, was declared “ZZ Top Day” by then Gov. George W. Bush, and the Texas State House of Representatives declared them “Official Heroes of the State of Texas”. ZZ Top has the distinction of the longest active American rock band without a lineup change.
