Saturday April 18th, 2026, The Eddie Money Legacy Band will be playing Patchogue Theatre. This is the band that toured playing with Eddie Money. The group is fronted by Eddie’s daughter Jesse and son Dez. The show is legacy and not notsalgia. Jesse and Dez aren’t just performing their dad’s music. They also include their own songs in the show. These songs show that they are artists themselves. This is quite literally, Eddie Money’s legacy.

We recently caught up with Jesse and Dez to talk about the show and more. They admit up fornt, this was not something that was easy to do. It came with a bit of emotional growth, but it was something Eddie wanted and asked them to do. Dez spoke about how these are the songs he grew up with. It’s something I’m sure Eddie’s fans can relate to.

I mentioned to them how I keep up with what they are doing through social media, more specifically, Instagram. I suggest you give a follow to Jesse and Dez both there for the latest on what they are up to. If you click their names in that previous sentence it will take you to their profiles.

It is so great to see the confortable back and forth they have. Plus the way they have such obvious respect for each other not only as siblings but as artists each in their own right. Jesse is more agressive on stage and Dez is more introspective. I feel you hear these differences as well in the style of music that they write.

They each work on solo projects yet, their bond has them working on each other’s projects. It is clear whe we began discussing this how much they learned from Eddie. Jesse expressed how they analyzed the set from when they were on the road with Eddie. Then they took what they learned from that and found the places in the show where they could add their own music into it so that it works seemlessly.

The emotional component of this show is very apparent as we speak. The emotion involved in performing their father’s songs, which they used to do with him, and now he isn’t here anymore. Add to that what it takes to express themselves through their own music in the course of the show as well.

There is excitement for them coming to Long Island to play for family. They see it as coming full circle to be doing a show here on Long Island. I asked if they may dig deeper into Eddie’s catalogue for the hometown show. They expressed that the set list was working very well right now but they were considering maybe adding something for this show. Dez was kind enough to ask what I recommend. That did give me a chance to throw out my request of “Where’s The Party?”

As we were wrapping up, I shared how my last conversation with Eddie he had said the next time he was on the Island, we would grab a slice. Eddie never did return to the island after that conversation. I asked Jessed and Dez if they would be so kind as to let me bring them some pizza back stage so that we could honor their dad with a slice. They loved that idea. Do not miss The Eddie Money Legacy Band at Patchogue Theatre on April 18th, 2026. And if you see me there with a pizza, you’ll understand why!
