Joe Rock and WBAB have teamed up with Save-A-Pet Animal Rescue & Adoption to help find your Pawfect Pet!
Each Wednesday, Joe will choose a Pet of the Week and will highlight that pet! A new pet will be chosen and featured each week!

Meet Charlie! Four-year-old Charlie is still waiting for someone to choose him. This handsome yellow Lab is everything people love about the breed — loyal, affectionate, playful, and endlessly devoted. He loves everyone he meets and truly believes every person is his new best friend.
Charlie gets along beautifully with other dogs and would thrive in a home where he can be part of the family — whether that means backyard fetch sessions, long walks, or just lounging by your side after a full day of love. He hasn’t lived with cats, but his sweet, gentle nature shines through in everything he does.Through no fault of his own, Charlie lost his home when his owner had to take in an ill, elderly parent who is highly allergic to dogs. And now this quintessential Lab is left wondering why he hasn’t been scooped up yet. He’s young. He’s healthy. He’s full of love. He’s ready.Charlie deserves the kind of forever that lasts a lifetime. If you’ve been thinking about adding a loyal companion to your family, maybe Charlie has been waiting for you all along.
To adopt Charlie, or if you are interested, you can fill out an application in advance at saveapetusa.org/adoption-application.
Save-A-Pet is a 501c3 no-kill shelter and have rescued and re-homed over 40,000 companion animals. We rely solely on donations. Save-A-Pet is located in the heart of Long Island in Port Jefferson Station. We have a low-cost vaccination and spay/neuter clinic. At Save-A-Pet’s Long Island animal shelter, we believe it is our moral responsibility to protect and improve the lives of abused, abandoned, and homeless cats and dogs, and to place them in loving permanent homes. We provide spay and neuter services for Long Island feral cats and any necessary medical care for pets. We work diligently to educate the public, especially children, on the importance of pet sterilization, responsible pet ownership and the humane treatment of animals.
If you are looking to adopt a pet, please view the dogs and cats at our Long Island adoption shelter and then fill out our online adoption application at saveapetusa.org
