John Jordan | Honoree for August 12th, 2022

John was nominated by his co-worker, Jamie Atkinson, who said “Suffolk County Fire Rescue Emergency Services Commissioner John G. Jordan, Sr. left public service on Friday 10/1 and we wanted to honor him with FR Friday. John began his career in public service at the age of eighteen by joining the North Babylon Volunteer Fire Company where he continues to serve today. Emergency Medical Technician, Hazardous Materials Technician, amongst other certifications. John spent over twenty of his years in various capacities including Chief of Department 2007-2008. In addition John has served SPCA, Islip Harbor Police, Babylon Bay Constable, East Hampton Police Harbormaster. Suffolk OEM, Deputy Commissioner during Superstorm Sandy then Commissioner during the COVID -19 Pandemic. John is in his twenty- fourth year of marriage to his wife Stacy and they reside in the Town of Babylon with their four children.”
