John was nominated by his mother, Karen, who said, “My son John is 21 years old, he is a Volunteer Fireman in Sea Cliff NY Firehouse. He has been volunteering with the firehouse since he was 16. He is following in his deceased father’s footsteps who was a volunteer for over 23 years before he passed. He is also an FDNY EMT in the Bronx”.
