Joseph was nominated by his friend, Scott, who said, “I’d like to nominate Joseph T. Stratmann who is a 33 year old Paramedic who lives in Sayville.  He has been in this field for 16 years.  He volunteered (no pay) to help our troops on the Iraq frontlines using 3 weeks of his vacation time (2 miles away from the actual fighting) to save our soldiers and Iraqi citizens. Later he volunteered to assist in Puerto Rico after the Hurricane. Currently, he works at Stony Brook and Columbia as a paramedic on the ambulance.  He has saved countless lives and is a true humanitarian.”
