September 9th, 2018, Ozzy played Jones Beach. It was his “No More Tours 2″ tour. I broadcast live from the show that day. After my broadcast I had third row tickets to upgrade a listener.
I wanted the upgrade to have the greatest impact it could. I made my way to the upper decks. Pretty to close to the last row in the venue I spotted this kid who was there with who turned out to be his grandfather. I asked them if they would like to do a Facebook live with me. I didn’t give them any indication that I had better seats for them.
Once we started talking, the kid, Jack, became very animated. He was there enjoying his second metal show. Then I sprung the surprise on them that we were upgrading them to the third row. They were extemely thankful. I even remember days later that Jack’s dad tracked down my email here at WBAB just to send me a note to say thanks.
With Ozzy’s recent passing this video really caught my attention when it came up in my memories today. I’d love to find Jack, if you can help me. I want to know how he enjoyed the show. Seven years later, I’m curious how many metal shows he’s been to now. I’m also curious if he flashed back to this show when he heard of Ozzy’s passing.
If you know Jack, please ask him to email me at JoeRock@WBAB.com. I know you can help me find him Long Island!!!
