Matthew was nominated by his mother, Catherine, who said, “Matthew has volunteered for Bethpage FD as a Firefighter/EMT. He earned his Blue Infantry Cord in 2013 with the 3rd Infantry Division and is now a Staff Sergeant with NY National Guard/The Fighting 69th. He earned 1st place Army Best Warrior/NCO of the Year 2 years in a row for the entire Northeast, and then 2nd place for the entire country in 2020. Matthew is also an EMT with FDNY”.
