Michael Santorelli|Honoree for September 12th, 2025

Michael was nominated by his father and soon to be mother and sister in law who say, “My son Michael is a recovering heroin addict who on June 2nd 2021 almost died in our bathroom from a fentanyl overdose if my wife didn’t come home on her break and we started cpr saving his life. Eight months later on February 7 2022 he became clean and is now a firefighter/emt at Centereach F.D, Middle Island F.D. and an emt at Stonybrook University Hospital. To say I am beyond proud of how far my son has come being three years clean and helping others is an understatement. So much nicer seeing him sitting in front seat of an ambulance and not in the back on a stretcher.

He’s been through a lot and just keeps getting better every day!

“My soon-to-be son-in-law, Mikey is truly an extraordinary first responder who embodies tireless dedication. As a firefighter, a dispatcher, and an EMT at Stony Brook University, he operates on a relentless overnight schedule, yet his commitment never wavers. He possesses an innate drive to help everyone he possibly can, consistently going above and beyond the call of duty. His unwavering passion for service, combined with his diverse skills, makes him an invaluable asset to the community and a true hero in every sense!”

Michael, as a small way of saying thanks for all you do for the community, you will receive a $100 gift card to The Pizzeria.
