Michael Taormina was nominated by his wife Shana who said, “My husband is an NYPD Lieutenant with 16 years of service to New York City. He is highly respected by his peers and subordinates. In addition, he’s a 5th generation member of the NYPD. He began in the Housing Bureau in East Harlem, parts of Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan. Got promoted to Sergeant in 2017 in south-east Queens. Promoted to Lieutenant in 2023 in Bayside, Queens as the Special Operations Lieutenant. He’s a dedicated father to our son Anthony who wants to follow in his footsteps.”
