Mike Gianmugnai was nominated by his daughters Gabriella and Juliana who said, “We are proud to speak about our father, who is about to retire as a Smithtown Fire Department dispatcher. He has answered 911 calls and guided people on how to care for loved ones while waiting for help. He also volunteers at the Ridge Fire Department, where he was chief for many years. We loved riding in the chief’s car, watching him in action. Currently, he is a Brookhaven Town Fire Coordinator and the President of the Brookhaven Town Chiefs Council. Despite many awards, including CPR saves and coordinator of the year, his hero moment for us is donut Fridays!”
