Nancy Fredericq-Nicolas|Honoree for January 23rd, 2026

Nancy Fredericq-Nicolas was nominated by her friend Kristin Seely who said, “I am nominating Nancy Fredericq-Nicolas for “First Responder Friday.” Nancy is an extraordinary cardiac nurse at Winthrop Hospital known for her vivacious spirit, compassion, and expertise.

Nancy is the kind of rare woman whose inner strength is matched only by her outer beauty. She also possesses a keen wit and sense of mischief that make her the person you are psyched to see seated at your table.

Nancy was on the frontlines of Winthrop Hospital during COVID and showed remarkable courage and humanity, caring for patients she knew were not going to survive. Her commitment never wavered, even under immense pressure. It’s no accident that someone with a heart as big as hers ended up working with cardiac patients.

Beyond her clinical excellence, she is an incredible mother, whom I’ve had the honor of getting to know as our daughters grew up together in the same school, became besties and play on many of the same sports teams.

If there is a DJ playing, she is on the dance floor first. She carries herself with a quiet confidence and relaxed joy that come from understanding and respecting the fragility of life and enjoying every moment. I’m always happy to see her - that is, EXCEPT when she’s taking great joy in scaring us from behind with sudden jump scare attacks…

She takes care of her ailing mother, while balancing her family, home, husband, daughter and career. She does A LOT!

So, please consider honoring my friend, Nancy Fredericq Nicolas.’”

Nancy, as a small way of saying thanks for all you do for the community, you will receive a $100 gift card to The Pizzeria.
