Nick was nominated by his girlfriend Kristie Kennedy, who said “I believe Nicholas deserves to be honored on first responder Friday because he is a hard-working, extremely dedicated firefighter. He puts his life on the line everyday to help protect and serve his community. He is the one that gets up at 3:00 in the morning to go help out a complete stranger who is having a bad day and try to make that person’s day just a little better. He has been in the fire department for 9 years and is now currently a captain of the fire emergency services. He holds his dad’s old badge number, and he says he will pass down that badge number to his kids one day. The fire department is his life and his passion, and I am so proud of everything he does.”
