Nicole Winter | Honoree for April 7th, 2023

This week’s honoree is Police Officer Nicole Winter. Nicole Winter became a Nassau County Police officer in May of 2022. Officer Winter graduated the Police Academy and was assigned to the 7th Pct in December of 2022. Prior to becoming a Nassau County Police Officer, Nicole was a senior Airman in security forces for the United States Air Force.

“On March 16, 2023 Officer Winter arrived at JFK airport terminal 4 for a flight to Florida. While awaiting her flight she heard a woman yelling for help and pointing to a crowd of people. Officer Winter then observed an elderly male lying on the floor who appeared to be unresponsive. Officer Winter ran over to the man, and after checking his pulse determined he was in cardiac arrest. Officer Winter began CPR and yelled for someone to get an AED. After a few rounds of CPR, a male arrived with an AED which was applied to the aided. Upon activating the AED, a shock was administered. A Port Authority Police Officer arrived and was advised to notify EMS and update them on the status of the aided. After administering a second shock, the man began gasping for air and regained a slight pulse. Additional Officers arrived on scene with EMS and took control of the scene. Officer Winters’ quick action and calm under pressure saved this man’s life.”

Nicole, thanks for all you do for the community. As a way of saying thanks, you will receive a $100 gift card for Moe’s Southwest Grill.
