Officer Hanley has been with the Department since September 2016 and has received 2 Command Recognition Awards and 2 Cop of the Month awards.

As a police officer, each day brings a different challenge and for Suffolk County Police Sixth Precinct Officers Peter Laub and Patrick Hanley, a child’s life hung in the balance as they responded to a call in Coram on January 23.

Officers Laub and Hanley responded to a 911 call of a baby choking and when officers arrived, they observed the one-month-old girl was having difficulty breathing. Officer Laub provided back blows to the baby and Officer Hanley cleared the baby’s airway.

The baby began breathing and was transported by Coram Rescue to Saint Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson.

Pat and Pete, thanks for all you do for the community. As a way of saying thanks, you will receive a $100 gift card for Moe’s Southwest Grill.
