PHOTOS: Roger Luce Is...David Bowie?

Roger plays an obsessed David Bowie fan in short film ‘Lights, Camera, Rock-N-Roll’

Roger Luce has worn many hats over his career. Before Roger & JP, Roger had his solo afternoon show here on WBAB and was the PA Announcer for the Mets & Islanders for a while.

In recent years Roger has started a band “Garrog”

And now we can add actor to his resume for the short film ‘Lights, Camera, Rock-N-Roll’ written by Roy William Gardner

Roy has an interesting tie to WBAB history. For 40 years “Fingers” was heard on the station and Roy gave him that nickname.

Roy was and still is the lead singer of the local band White Fire.

Back in the 80’s when White Fire was playing a show, there were some technical issues and a young man in the crowd named “Keith” was able to fix them. Roy gave him the nickname “Fingers” for being able to use his hands so well to fix the issue and the rest is radio history.

Back to Roger. Roger has talked a little bit on on-air about filming ‘Lights, Camera, Rock-N-Roll.’ Roger’s character is an obsessed David Bowie fan and yesterday, Roger spent four hours in a Glen Cove basement dressed as David Bowie.

He also had to sing “Ziggy Stardust” about 30 times

How do you think he looks? We can’t wait until ‘Lights, Camera, Rock-N-Roll’ comes out and see how everything came out.
